Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
RankPanda ("we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account Information: When you sign in with Google OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and Google user ID.
- Brand Data: Brand name, website URL, description, target audience, tone of voice, keywords, and other content settings you configure.
- Generated Content: Articles, metadata, and research data created through the platform.
- Feedback: Any feedback or support messages you submit.
Information Collected Automatically
- Usage Data: Which features you use, step completion times, and error logs to help us improve the service.
- Session Data: Authentication tokens and session identifiers necessary to keep you logged in.
- Visit Logs: When you visit our public pages we record the page path, a truncated one-way hash of your IP address (we never store your raw IP), your browser's user-agent string, and the referring page. This data is used for security and aggregate audience measurement only, on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating and improving the service.
- A/B Testing: Our landing page may show you one of two design variants. The variant assignment is stored in the same essential session cookie used for authentication, and results are measured only as anonymous aggregate counts. Your variant is never linked to your account or identity.
- Preferences: Theme settings (light/dark mode) stored locally in your browser, and only when you explicitly toggle the theme.
Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not use third-party analytics trackers (no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel).
- We do not serve ads or share data with advertisers.
- We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the service: Generate SEO-optimized content based on your brand settings.
- Improve the platform: Analyze usage patterns to fix bugs and improve features.
- Communicate with you: Respond to feedback and send important service updates.
- Ensure security: Protect against unauthorized access and abuse.

Content you create is sent to AI providers (OpenAI and/or Google Gemini) for generation. These providers have their own privacy policies governing how they handle data. We encourage you to review them:
4. Website Crawling
When you provide a website URL for brand analysis, our service crawls publicly accessible pages on that site to understand your brand voice and content. We only crawl URLs you explicitly provide, and the crawled content is used solely to improve the relevance of your generated articles.
5. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored in a secure database.
- We use industry-standard authentication (OAuth 2.0) to protect your account.
- We do not store your Google password — authentication is handled entirely by Google.
- Access to data is restricted to authorized personnel only.
6. Data Retention
- Your account data and generated content are retained for as long as your account is active.
- If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data and generated content within 30 days.
- Visit logs (hashed IP, user-agent, referrer) are automatically deleted after 90 days.
- Authentication event logs (signup/login records) are automatically deleted after 12 months.
- Anonymous, aggregated usage data (which contains no personal information) may be retained for service improvement.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your personal data by logging into your account.
- Export your generated articles at any time.
- Delete your account and associated data by contacting us.
- Withdraw consent for data processing at any time (which may limit your use of the service).
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you also have rights under the GDPR including the right to data portability, the right to restrict processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
8. Cookies
We use minimal cookies:
- Session cookie: Required for authentication and keeping you logged in. This cookie also carries your landing page A/B variant assignment (see Section 1); the variant is used only for anonymous aggregate measurement and is never linked to your identity. This cookie is essential and cannot be disabled while using the service.
- Preference storage: Your theme preference (light/dark mode) is stored in your browser's local storage, and only when you explicitly toggle the theme.
We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party cookies. Because we set no non-essential cookies, no cookie consent banner is required.
9. Children's Privacy
RankPanda is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or a prominent notice on the platform. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
